Groid – LOL!!! When I sprained my ankle I had terrible bruising, my mother in law put mashed potato and onions all over in and wrapped it in a bandage, I stank but the bruising went down after two days!!! For bee stings it’s a ripe tomato and mud!!!

What is the best natural remedy for heartburn?

remedy answers:
Try alkaline foods, such as yogurt or milk, to ease the burning. If these do not work, try mildly acidic foods, such as orange, pineapple, or tomato juice. Papaya contains digestive enzymes and may be eaten fresh or in tablet form.
• Dried, salted umeboshi plums from Japan, available from health-food shops, are a great aid to digestion. A tea made from one cup of boiled water and one umeboshi plum can be flavoured with tamari and drunk hot or cold.
• In cases of severe heartburn, eating proteins and carbohydrates separately at different times during the day may help to improve digestion. Vegetables may be combined with either proteins or carbohydrates, but fruit is best eaten at the beginning rather than at the end of a meal.
• Herbalism One teaspoon of slippery elm powder mixed with water or milk will neutralise the stomach. An infusion of meadowsweet will also have a digestive, soothing effect.
• Homeopathy Take either Arsenicum 6C or Natrum phosphoricum 6C three times daily, stopping when symptoms start to improve. If there is no improvement, consult a homeopath.
• Shiatsu Apply pressure to the point PC6 (see Carpal tunnel syndrome) and ask your partner to shiatsu the stomach meridian (see below).
Helper: With your partner sitting on the floor with her back supported, place one hand on her upper thigh. Using the thumb of your other hand, shiatsu along the stomach meridian (shown). Concentrate on pressing the point Stomach 36 (ST36), located four fingers’ width below the kneecap in the indentation on the outside of the shin bone.

What is an enzyme?
Enzymes are protein molecules that are necessary for life. Without enzymes we wouldn’t be able to eat, breathe, drink or digest our food. There are enzymes naturally present in all raw foods. These enzymes help our bodies properly digest the foods we eat. As a result of poor dietary habits, microbial contamination, and the world’s fixation with fast foods, we just are not getting enough raw foods in our diets.
Unfortunately for us, the ability to digest our foods properly decreases as we get older. Foods you loved when you were younger may now give you gas and bloating. Researchers also believe that as our body works overtime to make up for the lack of enzymes in the food we eat, that extra stress puts pressure on our immune system, making it harder to fight off illness and disease.

What Are Probiotics?
You might think that all bacteria is bad for your body, but that is far from the truth. The word probiotic means “in favor, or support of life.”Millions of “good” bacteria exist in your body, helping us to fight off disease, produce vitamins, metabolize hormones, nourish new cells, and produce enzymes that help food with digestion. Without good bacteria, the harmful microorganisms would take over our bodily functions, making us extremely ill. Antibiotics by nature kill all bacteria, even the good. Food sensitivities, arthritis, excessive flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, and auto-immune diseases are just a few of the conditions that can be caused by a disruption in good bacteria.
